Noobie question about themes
« on: November 20, 2010, 03:02:50 am »

Sorry if this has been asked in another topic - I've been fumbling around, and not yet able to locate the information.  But in this post:

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,64321.msg319649.html#msg319649

An attachment named cpg1.5.x_theme_prosilver_partial.zip is provided.  Do I surmise correctly, that the replacement of theme.php and template.html in the cpg1.4 theme with these files, renders a cpg1.5 equivalent prosilver theme?

I run a prosilver phpBB board and I want to bridge it to Coppermine - I'd like to maintain a similar look.  I would offer webcode to look at - but I'm just getting started!  Thanks for helping this Noobie.

Dan

OK - because I'm impatient, I tried just the thing I suggested.  I'm getting a "template error" (attached).  All the file protections within the themes/prosilver dir and subdirs are 644, all the directory protections are 755.

When I go to http://www.59plymouth.net/coppermine/?theme=rainy_day , that theme displays just fine.  when I go to http://www.59plymouth.net/coppermine/?theme=prosilver I get the attached error.

Thanks

Well, this shows you just how much of a Noobie I am - I don't have a "solved" feature on my board, and I accidentally "solved" this post.  But it's not solved as far as I'm concerned...  Sorry for the noise.

Whoa.  Now I see - it's pretty well spelled out here:

http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/theme_upgrade_14x-15x.htm#theme_convert_theme

I guess this post really is resolved, until I do the things detailed here and run into a snag.  If so, I'll be back.

Thanks

You can download already ported versions of the ProSilver theme here: http://www.portalxl.nl/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=6

Thanks, Αndré.  I've downloaded ProRandom, I think I'll play with that.  Incidentally, I didn't see a .rar download option associated with the ProCyan theme - did I navigate incorrectly, or is it an omission?

Thanks again

That worked beautifully!

I changed stylesheet.css to use wrapper_variable.css, and that worked fine too.  If, however, I'd like to change the behavior to add more slides per row as I widen the browser, is there a way to do that?

I am really excited about incorporating Coppermine into my Forum.  Thanks so much for your help.

We have a one question per thread rule (and also a 'read the docs rule'). You can set how much columns and rows you want to display at the Coppermine config (admin.php).
