Pre installation question regarding existing storage structure
« on: September 30, 2010, 03:13:27 am »

I am considering installing coppermine as a way for my family to access all of my photos. I tried searching but likely just not the right terms. My question is this - I currently have my images organised in a directory on my server (there are a few thousand). Can I during the install just map to that directory to parse the files to populate the DB? Side note I use Jinzora to stream all of my audio and that was how that particular application worked.

The data structure is fairly simple \photos\year\album\sub-album\images  Essentially I want to run the set up and configuration and populate the application with the images with out having to import one by one etc.

If this is possible I will download and get started.

You'll have to use the batch add feature after creating the albums you want.

The Mass Import Plugin does something closer to what you want, by creating categories and albums for you.

Excellent - that will be close enough for me. Thanks for the prompt reply!
