upgrading from 1.4.x to 1.5.6 language problems
« on: July 21, 2010, 09:15:30 pm »

Hiya Forum

I saw a similar post on this subject but it was closed so i couldnt post within it.

My update went super, no errors or problems.

However after i updated there are no headlines when i enter configuration.
Since the upgrade i only have mexican and luxembourgish to choose from, i hade Danish before but now i cant choose anytning but mexican and luxemb.. ? Also now you cant press the thumbnails and see the big pictures, it has been restricted.

my website is www.mbuna.dk/fishpic/

i read in the other post that the solution was to delete the old coppermine 1.4.x files but i have no idea which these are

Any help will be welcomed

Thank you in advance

What you should try (after backing up) is delete all files apart from your albums folder and your include/config.php, your custom theme if you have one and any new custom anycontent.php. Then upload fresh copies of all the cpg 1.5.x files and finally run update.php . Hopefully that should fix the problem for you.

Alright i tried to follow your advice. I kept the album folder intact. I kept the anycontent.php in my root. I however could not find config.php in the include folder. I deleted everything but album and anycontent and that surely fubared my folders :)

Sorry, that was a typo. It should have said include/config.inc.php. Restore it from the backup you made before you started.

Thanks for resolving your thread.

For future reference take a look at the following section of the docs as it explains how the language system works and how you can force a different language without that nasty mucking about trying to understand another. Pay particular attention to the yellow advice box - http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/languages.htm#how
