Moved to new host, but dbserver changes don't work
« on: July 09, 2010, 06:54:29 am »

I moved my entire site to a new host (Dreamhost), but now I've been unable to get CopperMine working again.
This is a coppermine 1.4.16 install.
I set the dbserver to mysql.casadelgato.com, but it fails to connect with this msg:

   Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !
MySQL said: Access denied for user 'lussmyer'@'windhoek.dreamhost.com' (using password: YES)

The host shown is the system the site is on, not where I specified the db to be.

Have you already tried using localhost? For most, that is sufficient.

As soon as you're able, you must update to version 1.4.27 because your gallery (when active) will be susceptible to potential harm at your current version.

Please always include a link to your gallery with any support request.

Thanks.

Yup, and no I can't use LocalHost.
But I DID find the problem!  I can't spell.  I had the password wrong.

It happens :-)

Sometimes the obvious isn't ever considered. Glad you worked it out.

You can resolve your thread and mark it solved.
