How to change the frontend last uploades
« on: July 06, 2010, 12:49:03 am »

How to change the frontend last uploades (lastup) to show the last uploaded pictures only from one category or album? I tried the plugin "custom home" for custom home page but CPG go blank. Also I tried activate "anycontent" but I failed. It is at www.photoportal.sk Thanks. Frank.

You need to upgrade your gallery first to cpg1.4.27. Try the unsupported plugin "unwanted_metas 2.1 prevents certain albums from displaying in the meta albums". However, if I were visiting your gallery and browsing a particular album I wouldn't want to see the last uploads from a completely different album (or no album at all).

Thanks I will try It.
I don't say my photos are best of all. Most of categories, albums and photos are about reportage from my town.
There is one category which is not the reportage one.
This is "A-MARK",
http://www.photoportal.sk/thumbnails.php?album=lastup&cat=4
and from this category (and all albums of It), I would like to show the latest photos at the home page of the gallery.
Is It better to upgrade to version 1.5 isn't It?

Is a Porsche better than a Volkswagen? Anyway, the plugin I refered to above isn't available for cpg1.5.x.

What I suggest you to do is creating a landing page where you pull premium content taken from Coppermine using cpmFetch or similar instead of messing with the meta albums. After all you just want to show your best shots first - that's legitimate. But don't break the business logic of Coppermine, that's a bad idea imo.

That was meant as a rhetorical  question. Didn't work as expected, as you appear not to have gotten the point. I tried to encourage you to upgrade to cpg1.5.x and not to stick with cpg1.4.x.

I understood this, but there isn't the plugin "unwanted_metas 2.1" for CPG 1.4.x so that's why I can't upgrade to PG 1.5.x.
I need to try this plugin. For now I upgraded CPG to v.1.4.27. Next step is to install the plugin mentioned above.
Then I will try a new CPG 1.5x and "pull premium content taken from Coppermine using cpmFetch".
I don't know what It is but I will find out It :)
