Use FTP + Batch Add to list and FLV file for download
« on: July 02, 2010, 08:54:24 pm »

Hi Guys,

I'm using batch upload and it sees the .flv file in the custom "ftp-uploads" folder but it won't go ahead and add the file to the database and let it show up in the Coppermine front-end.

I uploaded a .txt file and even though that extension isn't listed in my allowed file types, it adds it.

Basically, how do I force Coppermine to upload any file, even if it doesn't make a thumbnail out of it? The Help pop-ups say that ANY was removed as a feature but it doesn't clearly state whether it allowed Coppermine to upload any filetype or what it was replaced with. I tried leaving the Allowed filetype fields blank but A) that hasn't helped and B) it complains about it being an invalid value.

Can someone explain this to me, please?

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Okay, righty-ho!

I was hoping to get away with it without using a plug-in but that's cool.

Thanks for your help.

It has been replaced with something like
asf/asx/mpg/mpeg/wmv/swf/avi/mov

You don't need a plugin if you want to add the flv file type manually to the database, adjust your 'Allowed movie types' setting and try to let the user play flv files on their own (= they need the codecs on their system).
