Problem with avatar
« on: June 07, 2010, 07:56:32 am »

Hallo, I can not add avatar to your profile. The gallery is operated in the Czech language. Posted follows:

Coppermine 1.5.4
Theme - Curve
Language - cz
Inserting the line 6 with the name avatar.

Thank you for your advice.

The [img]-tag has been deliberately been disabled in this forum. However, you're supposed to post a link to your gallery as per board rules, which appears to be http://www.all-graphics-free.funsite.cz/. Storing custom stuff inside the docs folder is not a very bright idea.

Coppermine 1.5.4
cpg1.5.6 has been released!

Inserting the line 6 with the name avatar.
Not sure what you're trying to say or do.

I still do not know the answer to your question. Which folder should I copy the png. picture to show avatar? Thank you for your reply.

I have no idea what you're trying to accomplish.

Maybe you should describe what you're trying to accomplish, using more words than just
to show avatar
or
I can not add avatar to your profile
cpg1.5.x doesn't have an avatar feature out of the box; it requires a plugin or mod to add this as a feature. Therefore, it won't help to just copy an image to a particular folder. There will be no magic avatar turning up somewhere.

Custom fields for user profile
Leave blank if unused. Use Profile 6 for long entries, such as biographies
These fields are displayed within the "user profile" area. They will appear only if you assign a name to the field. As instructed in the heading, use field 6 for long entries, such as biographies, or if you want to include the use of bb code.
You can also use field 6 for avatars. To show an avatar in the profile, it should be entered in bbcode, for example to show 'avatar.gif', which is located in your images folder, use the code (http://www.yoursite.com/docs/en/images/avatar.gif)

Well, there is no particular place where you need to store an image that you want to use to display using bbcode. Store it wherever you want, just insert the full URL of the image wrapped into img-bbcode-tags in the profile field number 6. If you want to get a proof of concept, post a non-admin test user account for your site.

P.S. Side-note to others reading this thread: BasilF was refering to http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/configuration.htm#admin_custom in his previous quote
