Uploading troubles after upgrading
« on: June 04, 2010, 11:49:41 am »

I upgraded to version 1.4.27 a few days ago and tried to upload new pictures today and I got this message:

There was an error while processing a database query

Any ideas?

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I've had problems uploading pictures earlier too when I had version 1.4.26 but I fixed it by replacing stramm's picmgmt.inc.php file with the original one. I tried to do the same now but it still doesn't work.

Yes, apparently some pictures can be uploaded but others can't. I get this message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9600 bytes) in /home/annalynn/public_html/gallery/include/picmgmt.inc.php  on line 442

I know what it means and I've posted it on several support forums (including my hosts) and I've tried reducing my pictures but I still keep getting the same message. I had this exact problem with version 1.4.26 until I replaced the picmgmt.inc.php file like I previously mentioned. This is driving me insane, I've fought with this for like a month.

Why don't you just try to get better webhosting?

Maybe I ought to think about that. I'm not sure if the host is the problem though since I haven't heard anyone else has struggled with the same problem.

Really? You have done everything outlined there, even
Do not ask questions on the Coppermine support board how to configure your webserver; it's beyond the scope of the Coppermine support board to explain webserver setups. Usually (if you're on shared webhosting, which is the case for the vast majority of Coppermine users), you can't change webserver settings anyway. Only the person who actually administers the webserver (i.e. the webhost's admin) can change webserver settings.
Therefore, you better ask your webhost for support if you have issues with ressource limitations or other questions that related to webserver setup. If you're self-hosted (which is something the coppermine dev team doesn't recommend), you should read up your issue in the documentation that comes with your webserver.
What did your webhost say?
