Swedish language
« on: May 14, 2010, 01:15:25 pm »

Has someone started on the Swedish language?

I did start some days ago but do not have so much time to spend on it, so if someone wants to help out ...

So far nobody has posted to be working on Swedish, so please go ahead and post what you have, even if it is only a comparatively small partial translation. Only by frequent sharing what you have can you make sure that others won't be working on the same thing.

No, you'll be the first. Please do as I suggested above:

That's not what you're supposed to do, but quite the oppsoite: you're supposed to always base your translation on the English language file no matter what (according to http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/translation.htm#translation_step_by_step)

Did as suggested and added the Swedish language file in revision 7827 to the subversion repository. Can someone please perform the missing steps from
  • If you have admin privileges on the Coppermine forum, change the language file contributor's group membership; make him member of the translator group.
  • If you have access to the Coppermine internet site, edit the credits file there as well to reflect the newly added translator.
Thanks

Maybe you shall try to use the 1.4 translation as help. That meens that a lot of work already is done even if that will cost

The "Swedish" language file that comes with CPG 1.5, is in Danish.
Is there anyone who has completed a good Swedish translation yet.

If not, sign me up for this task.  :)

You're right. The Swedish language file is very similar to the Danish one. Please read the Swedish language file threads in this forum (afaik there's more than one) to find out if somebody/who is already working on that translation.

I'm almost done with translating the most essential piece, (using the latest english lang.file).
The admin part is left to translate.

P.s. I could not edit my last post, so I chose to post a new one.

You're not suppossed to, that's why.

Fine, you should always do that on a forum. Editing out older postings is bad, that's why we have disabled that.

Sure..

Perhaps this could be the "official" Swedish language file?
I've looked at the wording, and not just translated straight off.

I will of course translate the document files also, (help files).

My editor (Notepad++) tells me that your file is ANSI encoded. That's a problem of my editor if it doesn't find any UTF-8 character. But if I change it manually to 'UTF-8 without BOM' it shows me strange characters (see attachment). Can somebody confirm this?
