Batch Add times out
« on: April 12, 2010, 11:48:49 pm »

I've searched around in here and find lots of folks having the same problem but have yet to see a cure.

I'm having the issue after clicking "Batch Add Files" that the browser times out to a "Cannot Find the Page" message, and I used to have to refresh or hit the back button about a dozen times before it worked.  Now I cannot seem to get it to work at all, even after multiple attempts.  If I can ever get past that point (dozen refreshes) it works fine and dandy.

Single uploads work fine too.  Batch Add appears not to work at all now though. It simply times out.

My site is at http://www.hartpages.com/coppermine/searchnew.php

I set up a test account called test with pw test

I've changed the settings as outlined in the documentation, although I'm not sure where to "Set the upload form configuration for all groups to "Single file uploads only""  I did change all the settings underneath that particular sentence as instructed if that's indeed how you change it to "Single file uploads only."

All else works great!!

Thanks,

rjh

In regard to the above problem, I've tried Firefox as well as Explorer 8, and I've tried changing that 0755 setting to 0777 (and back) with no success.

liquid-motion provided the cure in a post, and I located it in a re-post by williewonka.

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=55356.0

liguid-motion said, "You don't have to modify the script. I had the same problem and my host wouldn't let me change the timeout settings either.

So here's the trick. Instead of calling searchnew.php, you should call searchnew.php?startdir=[name of folder you would like to add].

This way the script is not trying to read the whole directory, but only the folder you would like to add!"

rjh would like to add, "Thanks to all here, and thanks to the folks at Coppermine for a terrific software package!!"
