Re: Announcing Coppermine 1.5.3 Release Candidate

I just downloaded, unpacked and uploaded the RC to my server.. and will go about transferring photos and configuration.  Am looking forward to the finished product.

Question though.    ???

I have always wanted to see captions  beneath photos in the automatic slide show.... just as is with individual photos.

What file would I have to edit and where in the php file and what would that edit be to manually edit the file myself so that title and captions would appear beneath photos in the automatic slide show?

Would it be possible for the next update  or final release to be updated to include this as an option or automatic inclusion?

Thank you.  :)

Could only be scheduled for cpg1.6.x, as we don't have a suitable language string.

Sorry about that Francois.

I read the whole announcement post announcing the Coppermine 1.5.3 Release Candidate all the way through to the end.  When I got to the last sentence of the announcement, which says:

"We await with baited breath your thoughts and contributions to further improve this wonderful project."

I remembered that every time I see my or others' automatic slideshows I wonder where the Title and captions are and wish the photos had them like with the individual photos and manual slideshow...... and decided to reply.... to that last sentence..

It never occurred to me that I was on the wrong board when asking the question since I was replying to that last sentence of the post.

I will try to do a better job figgering out if I am on the right board before I post in the future.

Andre,

Seems to me to be a pretty simple thing to do in time for the next production release..... but then I do not know PHP.   :)  Guess I will be looking forward to 1.6.

Thanks you.

cpg1.6.x is the far future. We're currently busy to release a stable version of cpg1.5.x. Maybe that feature could be added as a plugin for cpg1.5.x. But that's up to you to contribute such a plugin.
