CPM Fetch and Facebook
« on: February 18, 2010, 04:01:44 pm »

I'm having problems feeding images from the Coppermine RSS feed into my Facebook App.

Seemingly, there are different kinds of RSS feeds, some for different purposes, so maybe providing RSS feeds in alternative formats would be a good development point?

The Facebook App that I am using is: "Social RSS" -

My RSS feed is: http://www.brummiesfans.com/gallery/rssfeed/rss_lastadded.php

My Facebook page is:  www.facebook.com/brummiesfans  and the tab with the gallery images should be here - http://www.facebook.com/brummiesfans?v=app_23798139265

The app developers can be found here - http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/apps/application.php?id=23798139265&ref=nf
You will see on there I have tried to get their help to display the thumbnails from the feed from my gallery, so far with no success.

At a guess I can foresee this now going to go along the lines of - it's not a Coppermine problem that the Facebook App won't work, and the App developers will say that it's down to the feed coming from Coppermine (with comments like "just make sure your image is in the media enclosure..."(whatever that is supposed to mean)...all of which will get us no-where.

If there was one type of feed that worked for everything, then great, but if not, then can we have alternative feeds for each of the common feed types in common use (e.g. .XML files etc)?

Thanks

Martin

Does your RSS feed work in other RSS readers and such?

The reviews for that app on facebook are pretty dismal...

Ive had cpmfetch working in facebook for a while, I found its easier if you make your own app.

the app isnt very good but once i worked out how to get it to work I moved on to something else  ::)
