Huge Problem attempting to Bridge with IPB 3.0
« on: February 05, 2010, 07:38:46 pm »

I have the following issue when trying to bridge coppermine and XXX:
[error message here]

Coppermine install: http://www.colinfarrellfansite.com/gallery/
Forum install: http://www.colinfarrellfansite.com/forum/
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.2
Forum version: IPB 3
Test user account: Can't make .. don't have admin priv

BridgeManager settings: * don't have settings right now*
Forum URL:  http://mysite.tld/test/foo_bar
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../bla/
Use post-based groups?:  0
Cookie name/preifx (if applicable)

******************************
I've totally made a mess of my gallery usergroups and need help.
Here is what happened..
which was bridged with my forum for years..
I all of a sudden got a blank page "fatal error" message where gallery should be.

I had recently upgraded my forum to IPB 3.0 ..and understood that it wouldn't be "bridged" anymore.
I do not know if the forum upgrade should have caused the "fatal error" problem on gallery.

I decided to set up new database and started from scratch installing gallery tables from a sql back up.

Gallery was fine.. working ok.. no problems.

Then I attempted to bridge using the invision20.inc.php
The bridge seemed to work.. but then I got database connection errors. (Can't remember exactly, but there was a problem with ini.inc.php file
I thought that I managed to "disable" bridging ..somehow.

Gallery seemed to be working ok..but I hadn't attempted to upload.
What I realize now is that I cannot get my log in name to get config /admin privileges.
I looked at database tables in Myphp .. everything looks like it should.. correct usergroup number, have "1" in front of admin access? etc

But when I log in I don't see the normal admin menu.. categories, config, batch add etc.. at all!!

Right now I don't care about bridging.. is there anything I can do to easily get admin access? Something I'm missing?

Or do I have to start from scratch again..and not attempt to bridge?

I upgraded my IPB to the latest 3.0 version. No problem there

In the words of Douglas Adam's, "Don't Panic". Your gallery is still there and can be fixed. Once fixed we need to help you get bridged but first things first and one question per thread. I'll move this to permissions as that is what appears to be the problem at the moment.

First read this - http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/bridging.htm#bridge_manager_recover_start and the preceeding details as it explains how bridging works.

Then do ass suggested here.

Once back in take a look through this thread. Read to the end before choosing what file to use.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
