[Solved]: Buying Images
« on: December 08, 2009, 06:16:59 pm »

Hi, Sorry I tried to post this in the mods section of buying images http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/board,73.0.html but I don't have posting rights it seems.

There are a couple of great threads in there and links to bolt on downloads. I just need to ask (as my users are bound to ask me and I won't be using it myself directly);

Is there a recommended stable cart payment/image download plug in?

They all seem to be paypal based only, are there any other payment provider options I have missed; Google C/O for example.

I'd like to be able to present a full image presentation and selling option in my Coppermine demo site http://hostpost.co.uk/scripts/coppermine/index.php  Of course I'll be sure to make sure there is a link to this forum.

Thanks
David

It's good that you don't have permissions to post there, as that board is not for requests, but for actual existing, working modifications. We don't want it cluttered by requests like yours. That's why the description of the parent board "Modifications/Add-Ons/Hacks" is
Quote
The Modifications/Add-Ons/Hacks board is for actual mods and hacks contributions. It is not for requests for mods and hacks. Regular users are not able to post new threads to prevent this board from being cluttered by requests. If you want to contribute and are unable to create a new thread here, please post your contribution in the support boards under the correct version. A moderator will move the thread if it is a valid contribution. Next to each thread's subject, you'll find a little icon that says what version the mods on this sub-board have been written for or tested with (if applicable). Please do not clutter the individual threads by asking if the particular mod will or will not work with another coppermine version than the one it has originally been created with/for.
There is also a sticky thread on that very board named "FAQ: About this board - READ" that explains even more details.

Is there a recommended stable cart payment/image download plug in?
As all mods and plugins catter for different needs and as we don't know your individual needs there is no "official" recommendation from the dev team. But let me put it this way: the fact that Stramm is a dev team member makes him sort-of stand out from the rest of the contributors. I have never tried one of the payment mods/plugins, but if I had to I'd go for Stramm's solutions first.

I just need to ask (as my users are bound to ask me and I won't be using it myself directly);
If you plan to attract extra customers by providing support for a particular application like coppermine, you will be forced to become an expert in that field by looking into many facets of that app; you can only support what you know well enough. So this question sort-of doesn't apply imo. All plugins that we're aware of are being mentioned on the plugins page. If a plugin isn't there, we don't have it. There's no use in asking if there are more than those plugins.

Thanks for the replies and advise.
In that case I think it will be best if I include a link to these forums from the demo site and direct enquiries here that I receive as a Coppermine supplier.

I was hoping to offer some info on downloading and buying images but in hindsight this is the best place for that.

regards
