Fatal error
« on: October 28, 2009, 12:06:14 am »

Ugh...So, a few of my galleries don't work, well, two of them. I receive a 'Fatal error' message.
http://paul-london.net/gallery/
and
http://www.john-morrison.net/gallery
Yet, my other one works (http://www.adamedgecopeland.com/gallery)

I contacted my host already and spent a half hour in a live chat only to get nothing out of it and for them to tell me to contact coppermine support..
How do I fix this? i have not edited anything in my galleries in the past two days and the problem started today.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

If you have not done or uploaded anything recently
and if you have not upgraded recently then you might have been hacked.
(might have been)

1) Upgrade your working gallery immediately

2) Read and follow the instructions here: Yikes, I've been hacked! Now what?

Well, my host told me that they found no 'hacking code' or something like that, so i don't think i was hacked. But i will have a look at the link. if anyone has any other idea/suggestions please let me know.

And thank you for the reply.

Have you fixed this? Both galleries look ok to me.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

It randomly started working again today, very weird..host monster claimed it wasn't their problem.

Thanks everyone who replied though :)

Usually happens when database table got broken, which is a webhost issue in most cases. That's why I guess that your webhost lied to you when they said
host monster claimed it wasn't their problem.
, as such things don't get fixed by themselves. Someone must have done something. The comforting thing: a fatal error usually doesn't show after your gallery has been hacked, as the hacker's target is not to trigger an error. That's why i-imagine's reply
Read and follow the instructions here: Yikes, I've been hacked! Now what?
almost certainly doesn't apply.

In the future, if you get a fatal error, enable debug_mode in coppermine's config to see the actual error message that is hidden when not in debug_mode. If you can't access coppermine's config when the fatal error shows, manually set debug_mode as suggested in http://coppermine-gallery.net/tutorial/debug_mode.php
Do not post debug_output here unless a supporter asks for it. Just post the actual error message - usually stuff like http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,61871.0.html or http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,56072.0.html or http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,48502.0.html

...and please resolve your threads in the future as suggested in Common policies: Resolve your threads
