bridge problem coppermine - joomla
« on: October 24, 2009, 05:14:32 pm »

I tried to bridge coppermine 1.4.25 and joomla 1.5 (latest version).

Things I have done:
1 ) installed com_coppermine
2) copy joomla.inc.php and joomla.integ.php to bridge folder
3) hacked bridgemgr.php and functions.inc.php manually (as it is not cp 1.4.21 but 1.4.25)
4) enabled the bridge in coppermine

(now I actually get lost, what should be done know, as the quickmerge.php is not available)

--> I read on http://www.mehdiplugins.com/misc/ 'After integration of Coppermine inside your Joomla's Template etc...' but how sould I integrate in a/the template ?

When I open joomla I see 'Coppermine' between Components. When I choose coppermine the message 'Nothing to configure for the component com_coppermine. You can forget it.' appears.

I have done a search on the internet but I do not find a solution.

In addition

Coppermine install: http://www.natuurdigitaal.be/coppermine
Forum install: no forum installed
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.25
Test user account: no users (I think)

BridgeManager settings:
Joomla site: http://www.natuurdigitaal.be
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  I left this '../'
Use post-based groups?:  don't know (I tried yes and no)

Another update.

I am getting a little confused.
My coppermine gallery was at start at http://www.natuurdigitaal.be/coppermine
My joomla site was at http://www.natuurdigitaal.be

After bridging, I see the coppermine gallery is integrated in the frontpage of http://www.natuurdigitaal.be/coppermine

This was actually not what I tried to do. I wanted to have the gallery integrated in the site http://www.natuurdigitaal.be , and not in the 'frontpage', but only when clicking one of the meny items.

How can I do that ?

Thanks for any help.

Your answer was/is in the Coppermine documents.

It's up to you to add a link on your board to get you back to the gallery.

You need to edit the template for your joomla home page -- add the link + button for your Coppermine. You will then be done.

Those instructions come from Mehdi, not from us. Ask Mehdi subsquently, not us. We're not fond of  the visual integration built into Mehdi's bridge. Bridging is something different as far as we are concerned.
