All - I'm going to apologize ahead of time for being long-winded with the problem but I feel more is better for diagnosis. The long-short is my videos (both MPG & FLV) are not playing.

Until recently, I wasnt going to publish video on CM but that has changed. I wanted to have the videos in Flash format, so I converted one to FLV, went through the steps mentioned here to add the filetype editor, added the FLV extension and tweaked the themes.php page. The coding must have taken as I was able to batch-add it and it is visable in the videos album here without any uploading problems. In this album, there are 3 video files; 2 MPG and 1 FLV - none are working, at least on my side.

Regarding the FLV file, I followed the instuctions here to add a FLV integration mod to allow FLV files. The instructions did not mention to add the .JS file or edit any HTML info but the into on JW FLV Player's site does mention to do this. Is it necessary?

Regarding the MPG files, I ran across a post from 2006 that mentions amending a 'clsid' and a 'codebase' function here. While I was able to amend these functions within my theme.php file, they were not in my include\themes.inc.php file.

I am allowing 'ALL' video types in my settings, none of the rendered specs of the videos are larger than allowed and can't seem to find the problem. My concern is with both file types.

• You have a space in the folder that contains the video (http://the-nowaks.com/cm/albums/uploads/Bradley Videos/MVI_2329-0001.flv). Spaces are bad and not web-safe
• Trying to download that flv-file to my PC and executing it in my local flv player crashes the player, so I guess there's something fishy with that file
• With all the bits and pieces you appear to have collected from here and there and without being able to see what you actually did it's impossible for us to advise anything

Thanks for pointing that out. When I originally started building the site, there were many whitespaces which now over time, I am trying to remove. This one has now been corrected.

I had converted it about 5 different way with this one being the best. I am able to execute it using Adobe's Media Player. Should I try a different player to test?

I pulled the updates directly from here in the forums where others had posted positive results with the exception of the FLV Player. Something else that I just noticed is that if I try to play one of the MPGs, say Bradley_ABCs, it appears to have started playing as the stop button is available which I can stop it but the screen is black. Now if I drag the progress bar over, it will pick up a frame of the movie. Could this just be bad encoding? If so, why would they play find locally? If there is a more universal CODEC that I need to use, I'm open to any suggestion.

I just re-encoded one of the current MPGs that were originally AVIs. I used medium-quality settings (640x320, 30fps, 96k) and exported to FLV format. This new file is available in the same folder titled Bradley_Rosey.flv.

I have also went ahead and uploaded the swfobject.js file to my gallery root. I've also checked my host's MIME types and it appears there is no MIME for FLV, only SWF? Is that OK? If not, should I add one for FLV. Here is what is active now:

After testing different options within the theme.php page and reading through an unknown number of posts, I ran across a post by SaWey here that sparked my attention. When I downloaded the player package and uploaded it, I didn's remember seeing either 'mediaplayer.swf' or 'flvplayer.swf'. So I then checked the player that was uploaded to find it was simply named 'player.swf'. I then found in my code this:
