[Solved]: The perenniel problem, but I can't solve it.
« on: September 22, 2009, 01:56:22 pm »

Hi all,

This is, I know, a common problem.

I'm getting "No new file was found" when trying to batch add.

It occurred after a failed attempt to create a bridge to joomla! which I've now backed out.

Oddly, I did get batch add to work for a few times AFTER the problem occurred.

I've mucked around with permissions etc, etc.

I'm sure it's a simple fix. Help, please someone!?

Thanks,

Yikes! You posted an admin account. I edited out the password in your posting and changed the password. Never post an admin account publicly!
Regular http uploads work as expected (see http://www.michelleandglenn.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-953, which can savely be deleted). You failed to do as suggested in the docs, section "asking for support on upload issues" - in fact you did quite the opposite of what you should have done, which caused quite a lot of moderation effort. In the future please read the docs first and do as suggested there.

You should avoid capitalization in folder and file names, and you should avoid dots in folder names!
File paths like http://www.michelleandglenn.com/gallery/albums/2009/2009.07JulyPics/102_9785-800.jpg  (/home/mic49713/public_html/gallery/albums/2009/2009.07JulyPics/102_9785-800.jpg) are just not a clever thing to use on the internet (depending on your webserver setup they will break things).
Post a deep link to one of the files that you're trying to batch-add that you have issues with (i.e. a deep link to a file that doesn't reside in a coppermine album yet but that is reported as a file already existing in the database).

Yikes indeed. Thanks gau gau for fixing my indiscretion. The folder name thing worked.
