Hrm. That is pretty limited. I also see that it opens the image in a new window... I assume that could be turned off?
One thing that I like about IDS is that if you choose to resize an image, say to 640... you then see all images at that resolution until you change it again. You don't have to click each image a second time to see full size... and no new windows are opened.
(I actually had looked in the demo gallery before, but hadn't clicked on any pictures large enough to have the larger size available, so I didn't know it was an option.)
To give an example of how IDS's sizing works, you can see a page here:
http://tinyurl.com/2ecdg --click on one of the images.
Some of the things that bother me about IDS:
--not php
--no ability to add comments to movie or sound files or have individual icons for movies or sound--I don't care if it won't generate them, but I'd like to have the option of making my own and having them display.
--no hit tracking, popularity ranking, etc
--no ability to have user-uploaded galleries
--the way it does themes is fairly clunky
--won't "autoplay" a slideshow
--no random feature
--no a postcard feature
Some of the things I like:
--image resizing
--will display any filetype you tell it to
--very easy to add photos--just FTP them into a directory and it generates albums based on that directory structure. I can also put the same file in multiple albums by just making a symlink in my shell, which is handy.
