[Solved]: Regulating or Managing Comments
« on: June 23, 2009, 10:50:08 pm »

Hi folks,
Is there anyway to manage comments before they are displayed under an Image. I ask so beacuse a spammer or a Bot is placing adds of handbags on my site without paying any ads fee. How do I restrict these Comments or approve them before they are displayed. In relation to that I recieve Emails with an Image Ihave posted from some strange addresses. I will want to ban these users but sometimes I can't track thier IP. How can I set comments to be approved before they are displayed.

Afaik, there are no current mods for comment approval but it is a feature of the forthcoming cpg1.5 (but do not ask for a release date, it will be done when it is done)

In the mean time you can stop most of these comments with mods such as askimet ( http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,33827.0.html ) and comment capcha (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,36319.0.html).

p.s Had you not apologized to Joachim I would not have bothered to respond. Try to be careful with what you write in future.
