Server hardware crash
« on: June 14, 2009, 11:19:58 am »

Dear all,

i had a server harddisk error but i have uptodate database copy. however i dont have a uptodate image copied from albums folder. I too have the original images which i uploaded on the system and wondering how i could re-copy the album.

i had a backup server which got one month old backup. i have updateed the database on this backup server and have additional data as below:-

Database uptodate copy
original image uptodate (before uploading to coppermine)

but dont have some of the the folder created by copermine in album folder. is there any direct way i can copy them to the server? (i am stuck on the issue how to create thumbnail_imgenme and Normal_imgname etc - is there any way i can do this manually and create the folders as discribed in image properties shown by coppermine ?)

There is a tool built-into coppermine to do exactly what you need to be done - use the admin tools from the admin menu and use the option "Update thumbs and/or resized photos".

yet another quistion,

i have following error while Update thumbs and/or resized photos (1)

ERROR creating : albums/userpics/10001/805/thumb_Fire_Roll.JPG
ERROR creating : albums/userpics/10001/805/thumb_Fire_Rings1.JPG
ERROR creating : albums/userpics/10001/805/thumb_Fire_Rings.JPG
ERROR creating : albums/userpics/10001/805/thumb_Fire_Grass.JPG

is this a permission issue?. I have 777 permission for all folders and still this error repeats.
I have copied the original image on albums/userpics/10001/805/ and had run the admin tool

what should be the folder permission for ../album folder and subfolders?

thanks

That's too bad - we have a strict "one question per thread" policy that you agreed to respect when signing up. Someone with a post-count of 20+ should be aware of the board rules.

Crystal balls and other magician equipment is out of stock, so we have to rely on traditional methods of support: you'll need to tell us more details if you want actual help. Into this category ("more details") falls a link to your gallery (again: board rules!).

As suggested in the docs, permissions section. If you read that section you'll find out that there can't be a straightforward answer like "CHMOD everything to XYZ".
