Upload Problem - Sorry : (
« on: March 13, 2009, 07:09:15 pm »

Hi,
I am experiencing problems with ‘uploads’ on Coppermine Gallery 1.4.16-2

To begin with when uploading it would show the image as a thumbnail and then come up with the error ‘the previous file could not be placed’ – the image would not show as an upload in the gallery however in my FTP files the images were getting uploaded to httpdocs / coppermine / albums / userpics / 10001

I have read your docs and been back to my webhost with questions about safe mode and also got other permissions set to 777 to make sure I am not missing anything.

In the coppermine admin i have checked this is set at 0777 and 0666
I have changed file uploads to 1 & URI uploads to 0
I have changed Image Magik to GD2
I have enabled debug to all
Allowed access to the config.inc.php now showing  ‘rwx rwx rwx’
Allowed access to the httpdocs, coppermine, images, logs, albums, plugins, SQL, userpics and edit folders now all showing ‘rwx rwx rwx’
I have then read your forums and have not come up with anything that seems to help my problem.

Since changing the amount of file uploads  to 1 and URL uploads to 0 i no longer get the thumbnail or the FTP files, instead the new CRITICAL ERROR now says “Impossible to move somepic.JPG to albums/userpics/10001/ !”
Could you please help me ?
I have set up a test account as follows:
Website - http://uk-photofinish.com/coppermine
User –  test
p/w – test1

Thanks

That version goes unsopported. Update and then if the problem persist, post again. ;)

Impossible to move somepic.JPG to albums/userpics/10001/ !
Usually means that you haven't set up permissions on file system level as suggested in the docs.

I'll upgrade the version of coppermine and check all the permissions again. Thanks for getting back to me.

I'll upgrade the version of coppermine and check all the permissions again.
That's the exact things to do and in the exact order ;) In most of the servers setting 755 as permission should work correclty.
