[Closed]: can paintshop pro images be uploaded in cpg1419
« on: January 23, 2009, 02:46:14 am »

I did search but did not find what I need to know.

i run a PSP site that teaches it members how to make psp tubes and such. Although we have no problem uploading png, jpg, and gif files we can not upload any .psp files what so ever.

Is there something that I can do to allow it. We are moving our things from MSN groups since they will be shutting down the groups very soon and all of our safe tubes will not upload.

no error message just that 0 files were successfully uploaded.
please tell me what I need to do or If it is possible at all, and yes in config I  have it set to allow All files.

Depends what you want to happen when you upload a .psp file. If you want intermediate and thumbnail files to be created then you need support from either GD2 or ImageMagick for that filetype. If you just want them to be accepted and downloadable you can add .psp as a 'document' using the filetypes plugin.

Hi Nibbler, sorry for not getting back here but the notification of replies is not liking me...did not know i had replies.

Yes I would like to have the thumbs and intermediate for the file --- so do I ask this in your GD2 section or where?

I did try to add it as an allowed file with the txt jpg jpeg and others listed but it did not let us upload it, the files are well within the allowed size constraints also so was puzzled.

Link to coppermine-driven gallery would help even more. If you require registration, a non-admin test user account is needed as well, since supporters definitely won't go through registration just to be able to help you.

OK, the link again is: http://www.academyofpsp.com/forum/cpg/index.php

the tester account has been created...there is nothing uploaded into the gallery but i did test with gif and jpg and png and they behave just fine...just not the psp.

user: tester
pw: tester

very creative don't you think...lol

it is integrated into the forum so the login form will not say it is the gallery, but after you log in it should send you there, if not then just click the link after you log on...or copy/paste into location of browser

thanks and hope someone can figure it out.

Do exactly as suggested in the docs, section "asking for support on upload issues". Additionally, make sure to allow jpg uploads as images and psp uploads as documents.
Finally, provide a valid psp file to test with, as I don't have Paintshop Pro and therefor can't come up with a valid test file - after all, it's proprietary software, so you can't expect supporters to have test files. The test file should have a limited size for a start to make sure that it's not a size issue. Make it less than 1 MB to be safe.

No, download doesn't work. Link sends me to the login screen although I'm already logged in. I'm not going to play hide and seek any longer just to support you: I'm out of this thread. Maybe you'll find someone else who's ready to look into this, but judging from how this thread went so far I guess this is a PEBKAC issue only.

Coppermine can be used to upload all types of files - it may just not be able to create resized copies of unknown file formats. I find it strange that you're giving up.

well i tried everything i could think of and to be honest it really is not that big of a deal, the embers can make their images png files and still have the transparent backgrounds.

I just installed the SMF gallery lite for the ones that absolutely need to create psp images...lol

but thanks for your help anyway, i really appreciate it....aside from that there is absolutely no other gallery software out there to compare and believe me I have tried a few and like this one better.
