Permissions so album list view only available to admins

Is there a way to setup CM so that the album list view is not available to anyone browsing the directory except for admins?  I'm suspecting that it might be code that could be added to the index.php file or possibly an attribute in one of the DB tables themselves but I don't have enough coding know how to accomplish it without help.
