Newbie Question - need some help -->
« on: October 15, 2003, 10:54:14 pm »

Okay, I just finished integrating the new album - very simple & concise!

I've added categories to my album - but I would like to make it so after a  user registers he/she can post images within my newly specified catagories. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

please read the doc that comes with the package!
Add the users to a group if you use bbs integration, go to group settings when logged in as admin, make sure the group has proper permissions to upload, then go to a category, click "properties" next to an album the users should be able to upload to and edit the "visitors can upload" setting there.

P.S. great subject line of your post, that's exactly what I like to read most. Checked the faq?

Okay, here's what the FAQ says to do...

Code: [Select]
How do I create an album that anyone can add photos to?
(assuming you have already created at least one category with at least one album where the uploads should go to):
log in as admin
admin mode
Groups
Group name "anonymous" - give them quota and upload rights
Album list
choose category
next to the appropriate album, click on "properties"
turn "Visitors can upload pictures" to "yes" and click "update album"
provide an upload link in your navigation if it's not already there (check /themes/yourtheme/theme.php)

I would like for only the registered users to be able to post pictures in all of my catagories & subcatagories. I don't see anywhere where I can change the properties (unless I'm blind from searching so much :-))

I've already broken up my gallery to include the catagories & subcatagories that I'd like to include - now I just need to figure out how to allow registered users to post in all of these areas.

I appreciate your help!!
