There were not enough submissions for a proper theme contest, so the dev team is considering what to do next.

Voting has been put on hold indefinitely, and the theme announcement thread has been marked accordingly.

Thanks, Ludo, for your interest in the theme contest.

Maybe my comment would not be welcome but I can read between the lines that the dev team should (somehow) change the way that the themes are made to make easier for users to create them.

There are 679.000 links acording to Google -link: http://coppermine-gallery.net- (more than 99% are galleries) poiting to the Coppermine site, so there are a lot of users.

Why didn't they get into the contest? I read somewhere that they don't like the way that the themes are created in CPG. If someone could improve the theme creation part I think would be diferent. (Maybe for the next version.. Yes, I know, many years ahead..).

**---One of the tools already added is the little box showing 'news' in the Admin panel. That's great for this type of situation when you need to announce things, sadly, 1.4 doesn't have it. --**   :(

Yeah, the theme engine is not convenient for everybody, we will discuss this but I don't think this will change in the 1.x branch.

I agree that creating themes with Coppermine is not that easy, especially for beginners like me. Are there any plans to do a new theme contest? Sorry if Im out of the loop...

p.s.: In that gallery, some of the themes from this site are great!  :)

Locking! The link in your profile is not Coppermine-driven and therefore not allowed. Prove that you're not a spammer by respecting board rules and changing the link in your profile. If you don't, I'll react accordingly.
