[Solved]: Thumbnails in wierd colors

some of the thumbnails are showing up all discolored, not sure why

You probably have picked "GD1" as method for resizing images in coppermine's config. Select "GD2" there, test if everything works as expected for a fresh upload. If this is the case, re-create all thumbs and intermediate image using the corresponding selection on the admin tools page.

ok, i changed it to GD2 and fresh uploads now show a proper thumnal, however i tried to update the old thumbnails in the admin tools, and there is no change, they are all still discolored

Looks fine to me. Clear your cache or refresh the page.
