~0.jpg..anyone seen this?
« on: November 29, 2008, 09:55:24 am »

Has anyone noticed "~0" being added to the end of some file names (jpgs) that some people are uploading to coppermine? You'll only see it at album level via your ftp, not in the members actual gallery.

For example:

Boating_dock.jpg
Becomes
Boating_dock~0.jpg

and
Edinburgh_HDR.jpg
becomes
Edinburgh_HDR~0.jpg

In both of the above example, both files exist and that follows to the "normal_" and "thumb_" stored photo's too.

Its only happening to a small percentage of files, but I just wondered if anyone has seen it or knows of a fix, whatever it may be.

Here is a screenshot of this users album, viewed via the ftp showing the "~0" addition.

When a user or admin uploads a file and if the file with the same filename already exists then ~0 is appended. This is normal and nothing to worry about.
