I know you said not to edit this file but I did, anyway, to put ads around the pictures.  Well, now I want to change the format but it doesn't let me save changes.  I changed the permissions to 777 and it still won't save my changes.

Any help would be appreciated.  Maybe I'm in the wrong forum?

Ask your host to check the ownership of the file. Also update your gallery.

Anything that can be accomplished by editing include/ can be accomplished as well by editing themes/yourtheme/theme.php - that's what we advise users to do. If you don't do as suggested and instead do something that you're aware of that you shouldn't do it, you're on your own with any issues that result of not doing as suggested.
