Category --> Category --> Album View on Main Page
« on: September 11, 2008, 11:19:24 am »

I've been trying to achieve this layout for a while and it's irritating me. I'm designing a gallery to show a modelling agency's clients, first by gender (category), then by age (nested category) and finally by hair colour (album). I'd ideally like everything visible on the homepage of the gallery so users don't have to go through clicking various categories before they get what they want.

I know that Coppermine does the layout I want, but I can only get it working with one category and an album, but not with two nested categories. Is there a way to force Coppermine to display the albumlist on nested categories?

Apologies if I haven't explained it that well!

AFAIK you can't do that.

Because if you.... Go to: Config --> 'Album list view' --> 'Number of levels of categories to display'. Set the number to the value you need. And remember to set to Yes the 'Show first level album thumbnails in categories' option.

Ok, with that you will have only the first level album in front page, but you will not solve the problem.

So, I think you should create albums with keyword and put them on front page.
