{SYS_MENU} Removing Links

I want only the User/Admin mode and upload links to show up here because the way the site is, i have a login/logout and profile link on the top of the page all the time anyway http://www.ign.ie/gallery/. I've tried commenting out the links in the theme.inc.php file but it throws template errors to do with the comments if i do!?!

Can anyone advise/help me here?

Don't edit themes.inc.php! Edit theme.php instead. Maybe you will already find the buttons for {SYS_MENU} there.
If you want do this by hand, search for "final extract" in this board.
