Linking Big Video to another site
« on: July 31, 2008, 05:52:37 pm »

Good morning all, I was hoping someone could help with this issue.
We a have a QuickTime video that is 900 Mg and cannot utilize it on Coppermine it's just way to big so we took some small snippets of it and uploaded in the Coppermine site so what I'd like to know is how I can link the snippet video to our other site to view the full version of the video.

If it was me I would reduce the size of the video by converting it to an flv (assuming it is currently in mpeg2 or similar format). I've had massive videos reduced this way with still a good enough quality. You will then have to install one of the flv player mods to coppermine and you will be up and running and it will save you hassle in the future.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I've considered that but its nearly a gig in length and 90 minutes long as it is in a QuickTime MP4 format how much more can it be reduced?
Then there's the Uploading to Coppermine it's currently set at 10 Mg how high can it go?
