[Solved]: batch upload - suddenly not working?
« on: July 23, 2008, 07:18:52 pm »

I have been batch uploading my photos, and all was ok.

Now the batch upload does not seem to work anymore. Basically, in the "list of new files" page, the little icons of my pics do not come up anymore, they are replaced by a white rectangle with a red x in each of them, and so they do not get added to my gallery properly.

I have made a test account, and have given full 777 privileges to the all the photo folders. user is ****, password is ***

The photos folder is called "test" within the "aj0708" folder. my forum is located at: http://jezf.quotaless.com/index.php

Yikes - never post admin account data publicly. I have edited out the admin account data. Disable that account as a safety precaution.

Nobody asked for the debug_output.
thought that was the process before anyone would help me!
The process is quite clear. Do exactly as suggested in the docs, section "asking for support on upload issues"

I followed the link on your first post. I can't login because I have a user (some_user) but I don't have a password.

But, before you post the password in order to let your homework to someone else. Did you do as docs and Joachim Müller said?

I have read the document fully. It is strange, because it works with some photos and I have no problem, but with other photos the problem remains. I have tried renaming them, and they are not much bigger or smaller than each other in terms of filesize. The password is test.
Thank you

i have attached a screen shot of the problem. I have given the folders 777 permissions. I am not receiving any error message, its just that the preview icons are not shown on the "list new files" page, so i cannot add to the gallery.

I have now reinstalled my gallery completely and have made some progress. Some of my pics are now showing the thumbnail before adding them to the gallery, whereas some are still showing the red x inside a white triangle. Which is a bit strange to me, as they are all in the same folder. Does anyone know what I am missing?

He hasn't asked to be PMed. You're supposed to post, not send PMs!

I have read the document fully.
Maybe you have read it, but you haven't done as suggested there.

Stop this nonsense. Do as suggested. I'm not willing to allow any more of this hide-and-seek...

I have now reinstalled my gallery completely
That was a silly move.

Does anyone know what I am missing?
Yes: start playing by the rules. Read the docs and do as suggested there. If you can't, then go and play outside with the other kids.

i'm sorry if i have offended you, and i don't mean to upset you. i'm really not sure what is wrong, as now some pics show the thumbnail and others dont, in the same folder.
i have followed the docs, which state to 1. check the permissions, 2. make a test user and post the link, and 3. turn on the debug mode. i have done this, and am now posting the link to my forum.
(the path to the folder i am having trouble with is albums\aj0708\test)
link to forum: jezf.quotaless.com/index.php
username: test, pass: test

thank you

ahh i get it now! the error is: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted

i have searched this forum for the error, and found that it is a server side issue, nothing i can do apart from resize the height of the pics.

unless there is some thing i can do in the config of the coppermine?

many thanks

It doesn't has any sense to support you. You don't read our replys.
Your breaking so many rules in the forum.

This is about a total different issue, this topic must be closed imo.

Exactly!

Of course not - it's a matter of your webserver - nothing that could be circumvented by a mysterious coppermine config option, since there is no config option named "apply magic".

this is supposed to be a help forum, what an unhelpful bunch you are.
Cool down - you have a week before being allowed to post (partial ban). Rudeness won't win you friends.

moron - i can just keep on creating new usernames

why be on the help forum if you dont want to help - rather sqawk like a demented parrot "read the docs"

it would have saved us both time if you had told me of the problem from the start - and dont pretend you didnt know.
