Pics lose quality when uploaded (Stramm related?)
« on: July 07, 2008, 08:27:32 pm »

Hey!
I use a Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.18 and the Stramm mod. I used to have problems with the quality of the 'watermark.png' file I used to put on the pics - It would get blurry and lose it's quality (first time it has happened and I've used Coppermine & Stramm many times before with no problems). Then after trying different watermarks finally the current one was with its normal quality. Now I noticed that the files I uploaded (original and resized pics) also got a low quality after I uploaded them into the gallery. I've searched the forums already but my Quality for JPEG files option is already in 80 and i've always had the GD version 2.x method for resizing images.
What can I do to make them having the same quality as before being uploaded into the gallery?

*I'm sorry if this was supposed to be in the Stramm sub-category.

Thanks in advance.

No, as jpg is not a losless format. Everytime a jpeg get's processed, some quality gets lost.

Humm OK, thanks. Because it really looks like it's still with a lower quality than it usually does.
