[Solved]: SMF and Coppermine not friends anymore
« on: July 08, 2008, 12:11:27 am »

Okay site url for the forum is www.triskelionsociety.com/forum

for the gallery it is /snapshots

user id for both: testuser1
password for both: password

A few days ago everything was fine. No issues at all having them bridged. I have had them bridged for months with no problems. I heard about changing the cookie name in SMF for security reasons and changed that. Then I began having issues with SMF not recognizing the cookies and timing sessions out. So I changed to local storage for cookies and that seemed to have fixed that. Then next day people cannot log into the gallery. When I went to it it would tell me to log in and then kick me back to the forum login and that was the cycle, over and over.

So, I dialed into bridgemgr.php and disabled the bridge. That allowed me to log in to CPG and see what I could do, decided to upgrade to 1.4.18 while this was all going on thinking maybe that would reset something but no luck. I changed the cookie name in SMF back to the default per my backup prior to changing it the first time and still no good. Changed cookie storage back and still no good(so I changed it back to local to be safe).

Any ideas? Anything you might need to know I may have left out?

Thanks in advance.

Bridge won't work with local cookies enabled.

Works for me. You probably have invalid cookies as a result of messing about. Clear them. You must post a warning when linking to NSFW sites.

Okay going to clean cookies now.

Sorry about not including a warning. I typically link to the splash page so I forgot I was circumventing that in this case. My apologies.

Okay, that seems to have worked. SMF is making me log in now every time I leave the forum though. I guess that is a SMF issue. I will see what their forum has to say.

Thanks for the help.
