Assign album to a category
« on: May 25, 2008, 11:55:18 pm »

This may be answered already, but I cannot find it either here or in the docs.
What I did was create some albums with no categories from the admin panel. I would now like to organize the albums better and assign the albums to categories. Do I have to create new albums with the same name within a category and them manually move the pictures from the old album to the new album with the same name? or is there a way to assign an album to a category after the fact?

There was a post that said you cannot move an album from the "User Galleries".

Are the "no category" albums I created as admin earlier in the special "User Galleries"?

Regards,
Stan

This is your second thread so maybe you don't know this. Please read carefully: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/faq.htm#firstSteps

Read this: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#album_prop

But, I really recommend you to read the entire topic, I mean, starting in topic 4.6 and finishing in the 4.8 (link above). In this link you'll find an image "album properties". In it you have the "album category" and there you have all the categories to move your album to.

Also, there are already several threads about this, please use the "search" button next time.

You are not allowed to ask for two issues in the same thread. There is a lot of information about these topics. Please, search (in the docs, FAQ and forum) and read it. I assure you that this is a "saving time" advice. If you learn all the basics knowledge you'll enjoy Coppermine.
