shell script uploading for users
« on: May 09, 2008, 04:28:36 am »

Hi

I want to allow some of my users to upload their images using a shell script. (using FTP or any other available option)

According to the documentation only admin has the ftp privileges.

Are there any solution in coppermine enabling users to upload images using a script or a program.
Its fine to use a program as long as it does not have to interact with the user. (auto uploading)

With Best Regards

Allowing users FTP-upload would mean giving them full access to your webserver: if they can upload by FTP, they can take over the control of your webserver in no time. That's why your idea is a bad one. Has been explained already many times over - search the board for detailed answers.
