[Solved]: ftp upload in coppermine
« on: April 07, 2004, 10:10:05 pm »

hi, (sorry about my bad english)

Is it bossible to have "ftp upload" in coppermine, that there would be actual ftp "program" in coppermine that would upload files/folders in "coppermine/albums" directory and then admins could use "batch add files".

I have album behind .htaccess password and all my users can have administrators rights.

That direct ftp upload would make it easy to them upload files in my album.[/i]

cpg1.3.0 (which has been released as beta) has multiple http uploads, so both the admin and the user can upload more files (up to 10) at once. Integrating an ftp client into coppermine is not that easy (or rather impossible), since it's a webserver application, not a client app (ftp is actually a protocol to transfer files, as the name suggests). There are, however web-based apps that mimick ftp software (that a look at the fabulous "Fileman" by Gossamer Threads, which is free for single users).
I suggest you recommend your users on Windows XP to take a look at the xp publisher that comes with coppermine for a start.

1) did you read the posting you replied to?
2) Only one question/issue/feature per thread!
3) don't hijack other user's threads

You, as admin, can upload as many as you want, by ftp, then use the batch add.  As gaugau said already in this thread, users can use the xp_publish facility, if they actually have windows xp, and in the next version, they can upload up to 10 at a time.

Change the space allowed in the groups settings.

Please only one topic per thread in future.
