[Solved]: Blank page after upload - continue
« on: April 24, 2008, 06:26:12 pm »

Hello,

I have problem with uploads in my site and that problem happen with pictures with big dimensions.
With version 1.4.16 all worked fine, all dimension pictures are uploaded full (1280x1024, 1024x768 etc...), but ago 3 days I upgrade my site to version 1.4.18 and after that users cant to upload big dimension pictures (cant to upload 800x60 and bigger). Small pictures are uploaded good.

I have my server which I tune by this topic: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,24088.msg110684.html#msg110684
Too all permissions are good.

Please, what is problem, why now with this version my site dont want to work?

At first upload page I see this errors: /upload.php
    * Notice line 1968: Undefined variable: file_failure_array
    * Notice line 1969: Undefined variable: URI_failure_array
    * Notice line 1970: Undefined variable: zip_failure_array

and
/include/functions.inc.php
    * Warning line 2938: cannot yet handle MBCS in html_entity_decode()!
    * Warning line 2938: cannot yet handle MBCS in html_entity_decode()!
etc...
I turn on debug errors all to see.

My site is www.footballwallpapers.us
I will give you test admin account if you need.
I readd all topics at this forum and dont solve my problem. :(

Thank you very much, Mladen

Read the docs, sections "upload troubleshooting" and "asking for support on upload issues" and do exactly as suggested there.

You have not done as suggested. Set the number of file upload fields to 1 and the number of URI upload fields to 0 for the group the test user account is in.

No, you haven't done as suggested - see attached screenshot. Stop wasting my time - do as suggested, verify that it works and only then reply here.

Something strange happen, I change it but it still is with old upload fields!!! Too, when I change something options in config after saving something variables back to old (example number of photos down the picture which are showed - I tune in config 5, but still show 4).

I now again change and success, url 0 and manually 1 field. I test it and again this problem, with blank page after click to Continue button in second page.

I am soory for this.

Uploading works as expected, see http://www.footballwallpapers.us/displayimage.php?pos=-125
If it doesn't for you, use files that make sense in terms of file-size and dimensions, as you appear to be running into time-outs. Post details about the file you tried with that failed.

Upload work for small files in size and dimensions, but for bigger dont work! Example, try to see what will happen with this picture:
http://www.football-wallpapers.com/wallpapers/champions_league_2005_1_1024x768.jpg

That piture I can't to upload to my site, but in my second site www.nasmejme.com in same server with same server configuration upload work withou problems! What can be that?

That's not the proper way to upgrade!

but still same problem, blank page after click to Continue  in second upload step.
Upgrading doesn't increase the resources on your server. You're running into server-sided limitations that you can not circumvent on your own.

But why in one site upload work without problems and in second dont work in same server with some server configuration?!

PS: I move all files and upload new from version 1.4.18 (except anycontent, config, album pics - as I read in upgrade docs).

  • Are your sure both reside physically on the same server? The fact that they are both hosted by the same webhost doesn't mean anything.
  • Are you sure that both settings are absolutely identical? Compare config options.
  • Your question is related to your individual webserver setup, not coppermine. We can hardly help you with that.

Both my sites are in my server, with SAME configuration.

In second site I now see this (error) messages:
The previous file could not be placed.
You have successfully placed all the files.

I find problem. I have installed "eaccelerator" to cache mysql data and increase memory for load from 16 to 32. I dont have problems anymore.

Please, mark as solved this topic.

Thank you very very much.
