[Solved]: Moved server
« on: April 24, 2008, 05:18:46 pm »

I moved server and my coppermine install and all seemed to go well. Database intact and aside from a few dropped pics by ftp, everythign went smoothly.

What i have now discovered is that my thumbnails all seem to be showing properly and the full size pics too. What seems to be missing for a large amount of files is the intermediate one, the one you see in the slideshow. I have create intermediate selected in the config and some of them seem to be there but a vast majority are missing.

http://www.pretendercentre.com/pretendergallery/index.php

any idea how to fix this and regenerate the intermediate files or where they might have gone? I am assuming it has something to do with the server move.

I have checked the album files i downloaded when i did my complete site dump, and as far as i can tell, there arent any files missing

any help greatly appreciated since i have nearly 8000 files i do not wish to reupload into the gallery.

thanks

You can rebuild intermediates using the admin tools page. FTP servers will often cap the number of files displayed per directory, so you might not get them all if you had lots of files in a directory.

Check permissions. The directories need to be writable.

i checked them they are at 777 whcih is what they should be as far as i know.

I just tried to upload a pic and got this message:

The previous file could not be placed.

You have successfully placed all the files.

could this possibly be a chown issue?

Got it sorted, it was a chown issue and host fixed me up, thanks for your help and suggestions Nibbler.
