hello,

yesterday I installed a coppermine gallery. The installation was no problem. Today I tried to upload some pics. But as you can see, the quality of the tumbnail and of the other preview picture if you click on the thumbnail is very bad. Although the original picture which opens in a blank window is fine. So I checked the settings and set the quality of the jpg to 100 %.

But I still have the problem. The pictures get kind of cloudy by the colour of the background - hard to describe :-)

I've no idea what's the problem. It must be the tool which creates the thumbnail.

PS:
at the moment I use php4, should I change to 5?

You are using GD1. Switch to either GD2 or imagemagick, whichever is available. Put the quality back down to default - setting it to 100% massively increases the size of the images and eats bandwidth.

Thanks for the help for me too. I noticed the quality is bad on mine (noticing for the first time now) and so I looked around and the default imagmagick path isn't the same as my host. Re-Upping some now to see the improvement.
