[Solved]: Database backup
« on: March 12, 2008, 01:49:09 pm »

Was downloading my database today and noticed the hit_stats table had hit the 20mb mark.

Having browsed it, found something like 4500 pages of individual hit statistics.

if i empty out this table, will it kill my total counts for files/albums/categories/comments/views etc ?

The individual stats themselves are of little interest to me, although the overall summary ones are and the 20mb dl is a huge file to keep backing up.

thanks

If you don't want the detailed stats then disable them in config. You can safely empty the stats table.

Thanks so much for that.

Wasn't really aware of that option in the config, and have now turned it off.

Am goign to empty that table now and should make backing up much easier.

thanks again.
