Captcha problem
« on: March 05, 2008, 08:15:12 pm »

I recently encountered a major spam problem. Sometimes even more than 100 spam comments a day.

After some searching on this forum the captcha plugin seemed a good solution.
Installation went well but when you need to fill in the confirmation code the picture that
shows the code is not visible.

I suspect the problem has not to do with captcha but with the theme but I am not sure.

For any help I will be very grateful.

Cheers,
Arbortek

Do you have "Freetype"  support on your server, this is a requirement for Sami's "Captcha (Visual Confirmation) for comments/registration/reporting/login/ecard" plugin.

Or use Akismet or some of the other mods. Searching the board for "comment spam" would have told you so.

I have checked and freetype 2.2.1 is installed on my server.

I think this has to do with something else because when I upload a picture with
Coppermine the OK picture does not appear as well.

Anyone?

Everything is normal !
Either your host injecting some sort of header to [on the fly] created image or disabled some image manipulating functions
You may ask them for support
