Large Pictures
« on: January 31, 2008, 05:43:48 pm »

Hi Again everyone,
Just a quicky.... I've looked through the documentation but cannot find a way to deal with the following problem, other than deleting the original picture... I have tried this but I still have large pictures.

Basically people uploading their own pictures are uploading images that are simply huge. Coppermine and GD2 are creating thumbs and the correct gallery size image, but on the images it says click here for full size.... This I would like to prevent, possibly even remove the larger file and leave the Normal_file in its place instead to save room on the server. As I mentioned above, I have tried this in the admin panel without success.... is there a better way?

Regards,
Steff

I think you want to set 'create intermediate pics' to no in config. Then enable the auto resize on upload feature and set your maximum size (dimensions) limit to your current intermediate size setting. Then you can use admin tools to remove the full size files you already have.

Backup first :)

Thanks again Nibbler... That solved that! I'm going to have to put you on the pay roll  ;D

Really appreciate it!
