Change Gallery URL?
« on: January 23, 2008, 04:30:38 am »

Thanks for the help on the other topic.

I was just wondering my gallery url:
http://jessica-mauboy.net/gallery

I want to start it over again, because it is currently not organised, so i want to start fresh, but the problem is i want to make the new gallery the same url, but i don't want it to replace the current one, i want to keep that incase (without having to download it) is it possible to change the gallery to http://jessica-mauboy.net/gallery2 and if all does not go well i can change back to that. In config there is "URL of your coppermine gallery folder (no 'index.php' or similar at the end)" to i just change that and the folder name, or is it impossible to do without downloading and uploading again.

Thanks,
Artin

Yes, that's the proper way: use your FTP app to rename the folder where your old gallery install is located at. Then go to coppermine's config and reflect your changes by changing the URL. That's it.

However, instead of performing a fresh install I suggest fixing your existing gallery. You're running cpg1.4.10 there, so as a first step you should upgrade (as suggested in the docs) to the most recent stable release (currently cpg1.4.14).
