displaying url to images
« on: January 02, 2010, 11:00:44 pm »

Hi,
I'm sure I read this a few weeks back, but I just can't seem to conjure the correct search strings here or in google or wherever to see how to do what I need...

New photo gallery ( http://photo.equinex.org ) and I'd like to display the URL to the 'normal' sized image so users can post pics to another forum.

So just under the image (say, on http://photo.equinex.org/displayimage.php?album=random&cat=10001&pos=-2 ) to have a block of text saying

   "Image location - http://photo.equinex.org/albums/userpics/normal_DSC_0129.jpg"

so people could copy & paste that into an [img] tag elsewhere.

sorry if I'm being dumb, or 'lazy', but it's not intentional! I've spent hours hunting for a solution already.  I'm not really PHP-literate other than being able to copy/paste changes if I have very clear instructions.

thanks,

andrew

There are a couple of plugins that integrate a button that generates the forum code for you and copies it to your clipboard.

The first is the excellent Enlarge-it plugin from Timos-Welt

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,53290.0.html

It also ads a nice Ajax gui with nice lightbox pop-up windows to show the normal shots off.

The second plugin from Stramm just adds the buttons below the intermediate image.

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,36302.0.html

Both the above link to the thumb but it is a very simple change in both to link to the intermediate image like I have done here.

http://www.windsurf.me.uk/cpg133/thumbnails.php?album=16 (click on a thumbe and click the Bb button in the popup to see how it works)

If you want to use one of these plugins and want to see how to modify it to show the intermediate image details are in bothe the threads linked above. If you cannot find it just ask here and I'll post the code.

incredibly helpful, thank you!

I have made some minor edits to the script (I'm fortunate it's not too complex).  results are shown here http://photo.equinex.org/displayimage.php?album=3&pos=1

thanks so much,

Andrew

androo, what's your budget? And why do you want to spend money for something you can get for free? Or is this issue solved? If yes, please resolve your thread.
