« on: December 18, 2007, 04:41:06 am »

if i have the pics added to my userpics folder, but i don't have them in the albums, is there a way to add those pics to the albums, without uploading them again through the gallery.

How did they creep into the userpics folder in the first place? If a http upload fails, the temporary file will be deleted by the garbage collection. If you deliberately uploaded the pics by FTP to the userpics folder, download them once again (using FTP) to your client and then re-upload them to the proper place.

the thing is that i added them properly.. but then i accidentally delete the database.. so i lost my categories, albums, users, etc.. but not the pictures.. so i was wondering if there was a way to create the albums and everything again, but using the pictures that i already have in my albums... there are over 8,200 pics.. that's why i don't wanna add them again

If all pics that reside inside the userpics folder don't exist in your database (i.e. immediately after the database has been re-done), rename the userpics folder to something like "previous_uploads". Then create a new folder within the albums folder and name it "userpics". You should then be able to batch-add the pics that reside in the folder "previous_uploads".
