File Move problem - yes, I did RTFM
« on: December 14, 2007, 10:19:10 pm »

I read almost all 11 thousands posts in this forum :) and tried everything what was proposed, but no luck. I get the most common error message "Impossible to move file to albums/userpics/10003/" (just this message, nothing else)

Yes, I have read the upload issues FAQ
Yes, the directory permissions are 777
No matter if I use ImageMagic (it's supported by the server) or GD
I don't suppose memory problems, I was trying to upload 90kB jpg image

in the /albums/edit directory I can find files like mHTTP_temp_1cb69b70.jpg or similar.

the gallery is available at www.armiphoto.eu, user: support, pass: support

... I had enough :)

regards

A.

Yes, the directory permissions are 777
On your server, different permissions may be needed. Not all servers require 777. On my webspace, I need to assign 755 for example. When in doubt, ask your webhost what level of permissions you need to assign to a folder to grant the script (i.e. the user the webserver runs under) the rwx permissions. Make sure to actually assign permissions, don't just check using your FTP app - the permission properties your FTP app display may differ from the actual ones.
You're running cpg1.4.10 btw, while the most recent stable release currently is cpg1.4.14. Upgrading is mandatory no matter what.

looks fine. I've recursively reset the file permissons of /albums to 777 (755 was causing the "unable to create /albums/userpics/10001 directory" message), and did the upgrade to 1.4.14. helped :)

thanks
