Category Operations Buttons Missing
« on: December 13, 2007, 10:12:32 pm »

I've searched through the forums and while I saw similar questions, they were not the solution for me.

I want to delete a category but can't because all the buttons are missing under operations.

I looked at the source code, and it is calling on the images. I have checked the directories, and yes the images are there.

I've tried using different themes but still there is no change.

I reinstalled all my themes and my images folder and still the problem persists.

I have no plug-ins installed.

you have a problem with a file who is corrupted. The best thing is to reupload all coppermine files (but do not overwright the albums folder and the config.inc.php file)

All right, I'll try that right now.

How do files get corrupted?

I reinstalled all the files (accept album and config). But it didn't resolve the issue.

I'm pulling my hair out. ???

Make sure that your FTP app is configured to actually overwrite existing files. Make sure to use the proper FTP mode. Make sure to use a "real" FTP app, not some crap like the upload utility built into MS Frontpage or similar crap.

I do a lot of webstuff and I've never had any problems over writing files. I'm using FireFTP (firefox).

I'm using FireFTP (firefox).

It dawned on me to try another browser and the buttons show up in IE7 and in Opera but not in FF. Is it a known problem that the buttons don't show up in FF or is that unique?

No, works for me on my install and with FF  ???

I accessed my site on another computer (same version of FF) and it worked fine. I disabled all my add-ons and it still didn't work.

I think it's clear now that the problem is on my end (though I don't know what). I will reinstall FF and hopefully that'll fix the problem, I'm reliant on all my plug-ins  :-\

Thanks for the help!

P.S. could you please remove the link to my site from the first entry? Thanks. :)

As I said: use a real FTP app, not just a browser-plugin crutch. We recommend using FileZilla.

It's not my FTP program and it's not my browser plugins (I disabled all and still didn't work). It works on all browsers except FF on my work computer. I reinstalled and still didn't fix the problem but unless yall are masters at Firefox to I think I'm on my own.

Thanks for helping me resolve this.

A moderator did as you requested. Why don't you do something for the community in turn and describe how you fixed your issues for the benefit of others?

I wish I could, I had intended to, but unfortunately have not found a solution.

I tried disabling all plug-ins/extension with no success. I also tried completely reinstalling and again, no success.

The issue is only on my work computer. I do not have the issue at home or on any other computer at work. So it's been isolated for me. I have not thought of any other possibilities so investigate, but if you think of something I appreciate it.

Currently I'm using IE7 when I need to edit categories. Since I don't edit them often it's not a huge hassle.
