Organizing Categories and Sub-Categories - Problem
« on: December 12, 2007, 03:37:34 pm »

Hello guys! ;)
At first, please excuse my terrible English!  ;D

I use Coppermine Version 1.4.10 (stable) and i tried to sort my albums and sub-albums.
There are Categories which name includes the "topic" and in there are the sub-categories which names include the yeah the photos are taken. Till here, everything was good! ;)

So yesterday i just created the categories for the year 2008. In the "configuration-view" everything is ok, but on my gallery-startpage everything is mixed up and not sortet.

I made to screenshots. In the second one I placed arrows to show you where the categories actually belong to!

Number 1: [Edit GauGau] Replaced hotlinked image with attachment "screenshot1.jpg" [/Edit]

Number 2: [Edit GauGau] Replaced hotlinked image with attachment "screenshot1.jpg" [/Edit]

Thanks a lot!  :D

I use Coppermine Version 1.4.10 (stable)
Then upgrade. Most recent stable release currently is cpg1.4.14

and i tried to sort my albums and sub-albums.
Coppermine doesn't feature sub-albums. We have categories, sub-categories and albums. Please reveiw the docs for the concept.

Ok, that was my mistake. I meant "sub-categories" ;)

I have categories and albums in this order:

-> Category (e.g. "Joker")
--> Sub-Category (e.g. "2007")
---> Album (e.g. "Me")
---> Album (e.g. "My friends")
---> Album (e.g. "The Location")
--> Sub-Categorie (e.g. "2008")
---> Album
---> Album
---> Album

And so on.

So for example:
The categroy is "Joker", then i created 2 sub-categories in "Joker".
The sub-categories are "2007" and "2008". The problem is, that one of the sub-categories (2008) is listet in another "parent"-category instead of the one I want the sub-category in.

I'm going to upgrade my gallery tomorrow. If somebody know a solution for my problem now, please help me. If not, then I'm going to come back if the problem still exists after the upgrade! ;)
Thanks a lot to you!

Probably just the theme looks misleading. Try with classic. Post a link.

Here is the link:[removed as requested] (But could you please remove it, when the problem is solved? ;))
It's the classic-theme now.

That's just because empty categories are displayed differently to non-empty categories. Once you add abums it will look the same.

Cool, ti works! *g*
Thank you! ;)

So the sub-categories are now listet one below each other.
Is there any possibility to list them next to each other? For example 3 in a row?

Expample:
Category
Sub-Categorie 1 - Sub-Category 2 - Sub-Category 3
Sub-Categorie 4 - Sub-Category 5 - Sub-Category 6
